Recently, some immature people have been writing things on my mother's bumper stickers. They don't have the balls to come have a civilized discussion with her about her beliefs and theirs, so they just sneak and write on her car. The words consist of intelligent phrases like "FUCK YOU" and "FUCK OFF" and just today, "MARXIST", because heaven FORBID if we should have opinions that aren't in sync with theirs! The First Amendment is something they love to use, but when other people use it to disagree with them, then it's just UNPATRIOTIC!!!
So, since people like to throw words around without knowing what they are, like morons, I decided to go look it all up. Because guess what? Yes, my family are under the category of Marxist and socialist indeed. HORRIBLE?!!?! UNPATRIOTIC?!?! THAT SURELY MEANS I WANT AMERICA TO FAIL!!! I AM PURE EVIL!!!
This is a highly common misconception fed to us by the biggest liars of all- politicians and the corporations that back them up.
Allow me to give the definition of a socialist, and I quote, "Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources. A socialist society is characterised by a free association, which is not based on coercive wage labour. It is organized on the basis of relatively equal power relations, self-management, collective decision-making and adhocracy rather than hierarchical, bureaucratic forms of organization in the economic and political systems."
In laymen's terms, socialism is stating that the people should have more control over the government and the business industry. It states that people should be on equal footing, and to hell with the high-class, middle-class, low-class. Real evil, huh? I've heard propaganda that socialism can only be achieved through communism- that isn't true. Mr. Hugo Chavez seems to be doing quite fine without communism! The only reason we demonize him is because the corporations have painted him in a bad light BECAUSE he refuses to let America's money-grubbing corporate pigs in, specifically to keep his country safe from the problems WE face! How horrible!
Marxism is pretty much the same thing too. But I want to go into another system, one not many have heard of- plutocracy. Plutocracy is "is rule by the wealthy, or power provided by wealth. The combination of both plutocracy and oligarchy is called plutarchy."
Hmmmmm, what does that sound like? Sounds a lot like what this country's become, a system that benefits the wealthiest and completely abuses the poor. THAT is evil, in my opinion. Yet me and my kind are being slandered as unpatriotic, haters of all that is right and blah blah blah. We want to work on making people equal, we want to eliminate the majourity of pain and suffering caused by abuse of power, and yet we're evil. The people in Wall Street that steal billions from us, from YOU, they're not evil. The corporations who rape our rights daily to make a profit, they're not evil. The religious nutbags that spew god's hatred instead of god's love, they're not evil. But us who try to live life loving our fellow human, we're damn evil.
And we wonder why our country is failing. I only ask you this- Feel free to have your opinions. But please, take the time to do what so many people don't ever do- RESEARCH. Learn, look things up, ask questions, make sure you understand exactly what it is you do or don't believe in before you speak. And please, don't hide like a coward and write nasty notes, come out and have the guts to state "Hey, I don't agree with this, and this is why."
