Merry Consumerism Season!

Aaaah, Christmas. Seasons of comfort and joy. Don't get me wrong, I like the holiday. But it's sad when I hear about how many people got hurt and killed on Black Friday. How many was it this year? Haven't checked yet. How many children this year will be swallowed by greed? How many people will sob because they can't get that Kohl's brand 180$ purse this year? How many kids will be turned into spoiled brats? How many rich kids will bitch about their gifts while poor children consider themselves lucky they got their second-hand toys and clothes?
What happened to the true meaning of the holiday? It wasn't always like this, you know. There was a time where homemade cookies and a smile was enough on the holiday. Of course, that was before corporations suddenly spun tales of needing THIS and needing THAT in order to fill their quotas to make their millions into billions. Before they brain-washed us into the philosophy of BUY BUY BUY, or you'll never be happy. Happiness is a spent dollar. Saddening! And the humanity of it all, sad that we must save all our love for our fellow human on this single holiday. It's like what Two Gryphon says, why can't we love our fellow human EVERY day instead of just this one frivolous holiday that doesn't even represent love anymore?
